Job Description – Assistant Marketing Communications Manager, EMEA (22000OTS)
The Assistant Marketing Communications Manager role for the Automotive Finishes Division of the Sherwin-Williams Performance Coatings Group will be responsible for managing projects and programs to drive the implementation and execution of segment marketing communications plans based on the overall segment marketing strategy across selected markets and channels in EMEA.
Based on the established brand and communications strategies, the individual who fills this role will create plans, campaigns and tactics to engage a variety of segment and audience targets, and be responsible for the execution and project management of activities in support of division sales and share growth goals. The role will be primarily focused on managing internal and external communication, demand generation and content programs, including all aspects of promotion, product launches, public relations, media advertising, digital and SEO campaigns, literature development, trade shows and administrative tasks, as appropriate.
The role’s primary internal customers are the EMEA segment marketing, product and commercial organizations. The success of the role will be measured by an increase in internal awareness and utilization of thought leadership and subject matter expertise content; a robust external content development and curation program; and an overall growth in brand awareness and sales-accepted leads that directly and indirectly generate revenue and margin growth. In addition, the position’s key responsibilities will align with sales enablement tactics and demand generation campaigns developed and executed by the Automotive Finishes segment marketing communications team.
Responsible for the development, implementation, execution and measurement of segment marketing communications plans for selected industry segments in line with overall departmental marketing objectives.
Lead ongoing segment communications to field sales teams, including emails, newsletters, webinars, videos, case histories, etc. Collaborate with EMEA design specialist and global creative services teams and external agencies on best practices in content creation and delivery.
Collaborate with sales and segment marketing teams to ensure internal voice of customer is reflected in the type, frequency and distribution methods for providing informational and educational content; and to maintain alignment with the sales organization’s customer communications and content needs.
Serve as a liaison between the sales organization and the segment marketing team to ensure field knowledge and customer/competitive intelligence are integral components of segment messaging and content development.
Leverage Salesforce.com to communicate and engage with commercial teams on lead-to-close process. Work closely with salesforce effectiveness resources to improve marketing/sales alignment and optimize content delivery and distribution from sales to customers,
Manage segment marketing communications planning, development, execution and delivery of content for digital and print platforms, including the Automotive Finishes website, social media accounts, digital inbound campaigns and advertising, etc. Develop and engage content creation resources (agencies, internal and freelance writers, etc.) to produce a variety of content formats, including case studies, client testimonials, technology overviews, white papers, videos, etc.
Collaborate with other regional teams on content sharing as appropriate.
Public Relations/Thought Leadership and Media Advertising
Serve as the primary point of contact and project manager for agency/trade media public relations and advertising programs supporting specific segments.
Write and/or leverage creative services team/agency partner(s) to write segment-related press releases. Manage approval process through divisional and corporate communications. Own segment release process either via an external agency or Cision, as appropriate.
Maintain consolidated segment campaign, PR, advertising, digital and event calendars in alignment with divisional and segment team communications campaigns.
Demand Generation Campaign Management
Design and execute integrated marketing communications campaigns and programs targeting segment audiences in support of organizational growth objectives. Leverage all available platforms, channels and formats to disseminate value proposition messaging and content to a defined set of customers and prospects to achieve desired business outcomes.
Manage and coordinate trade show-related activities in the defined industry segment space.
Coordinate registration and breakout content development activities for Automotive Finishes EMEA Sales Meeting.
Experience in brand and marketing communications fields, preferably in B2B industrial environments
Outstanding written, oral and storytelling communication skills (advanced proficiency in English is essential)
Ability to work collaboratively and cross-functionally in a matrix organization
Ability to work autonomously with minimum supervision
Support the development and meeting annual departmental budgetary plans
Project management and coordination skills to manage multiple programs and campaigns
Interpreting and applying department policies and procedures and applicable laws, rules, and regulations
Excellent attention to detail
Ability to adapt to change and conflicting priorities
